How to Set Up Apple CarPlay® & Android Auto™ for Honda

Having a seamless connection between your car and your phone is important. That’s why Honda has equipped most vehicles in the new Honda lineup with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™. Since this is a popular feature, we want to provide some simple instructions to get you going. Read below to see how to connect your phone to your car with ease! 

Connecting to Apple CarPlay®

Do you have an iPhone and wonder how to set up Apple CarPlay for your Honda? First you’ll want to make sure your device is updated with the latest software and supports CarPlay. Next, follow these simple steps to get connected: 

1. Turn your Honda vehicle on. 
2. On your iPhone, navigate to “Settings” and make sure your Bluetooth® is on. 
3. Select “General” in settings. 
4. Select “CarPlay.” This may take you to the “Available Cars” section. Make sure to select your vehicle.
5. To pair, you have two options: 
1. On your steering wheel, you’ll see a button with an icon of a person speaking. This is the voice button. Press and hold it until you hear a tone the notifies you of the connection. 
2. Go to your touchscreen in the Honda and hold the “CarPlay Home” button until Siri appears. 

Connecting to Android Auto™ 

Many drivers in Boston and Stoughton have Android devices and want to learn how to use Android Auto without USB. You’ll have to use a USB to start the initial setup, but after that, you’re good to go! Ready to learn how to use Android Auto™ wireless? First, make sure your phone is updated to the latest version available. Then, follow the instructions provided below: 

1. Turn on your Honda and make sure to enable Android Auto™ in your car’s settings.
2. Ensure that the bluetooth, wifi and location settings are enabled on your phone.
3. Go to GooglePlay and download Android Auto™. 
4. Connect your phone to your Honda via bluetooth and follow the instructions on the screen in your car. 
5. Review the Safety Information and Android Auto™ permissions. 
6. Turn on notifications for Android Auto™.
7. On your vehicle’s display, select Android Auto™.
8. The next time you enter your Honda, you’ll have a seamless connection!
